Ideas

1. Have a invisible leash. Say if the dog wants to run around the beach or something
and you don’t want it on it’s leash. It would be cool if there was a little button you
could press (would look like a garage door opener) that would stop your dog, kind of
like an invisible leash.
2. Sizes between small, medium, and large. If there was a mlarge or a ledium, I would
never have troubles picking out clothes.
3. Shoes that act as a medal detector. Wouldn’t it be sweet if all the sudden your shoe
went off and there was a nice gold ring on the ground? Yes it would be sweet.
4. Flexible Laptops. I know it would be hard to create, but I am always sick of lugging
my laptop around. Wouldn’t it be cool to just fold it 4 times and just hold it in one
hand?
5. Earbuds with subwoofers. I feel like the lame headphones you get with iPods do
nothing for sound, so it would be cool if they built mini subwoofers inside.
6. For about a week I have been trying to get an eye appointment, and they are always
so busy. It would be nice if there was a computer program that could diagnose your
eye sight, so you could just go in and get frames for it.
7. Waking up for class in the morning is so hard, especially in such a comfy bed. It
would be perfect if your bed would vibrate or just do something you don’t want it to
do so it would be easier to wake up. An alarm clock bed?
8. A cup that is heated to a certain temperature so beverages such as coffee or tea will
never get cold.
9. My mom always gets mad at me when I stare inside the fridge for 10 minutes looking
for what I want to eat. It would be great if there was a fridge that had clear doors so
you can see inside at all times and won’t waste time keeping the door open.
10. A taco shell that is closed on one end. It would totally stop the messes everyone
creates with tacos.
11. 4-Day school week. With global warming happening and the price of gas (even
though it has gone down for now) it would help the environment and reduce
commuting traffic dramatically.
12. For every program that we use, ranging from After Effects to Max/Msp I feel there
should be video tutorial for every aspect of the programs that are built into it. It
would prevent students from getting lost and not knowing what they are doing in
class.
13. For avid campers, have an inflatable tent. Just pump it up with a foot pump and it is
ready.
14. I think that every campus should have an adult sized playground. I miss swinging
on swings, and forgetting about all my worries for just that moment.
15. To make watching television more interesting, having an optional 3-D on/off button
so you can choose to have your shoe be 3-D or not. All you would need is 3-D glasses
and your set.
16. Retractable TV chords. It is such a pain to have so many chords everywhere with
electronics, it looks so tacky.
17. Toilets that have built in cleaner. They are seriously the worse things to clean, and it
would be great if every month in would self clean itself.
18. Since summer, I would hate putting on sun tan lotion because it smells like crap. It
would be beneficial and used more if sun tan lotion was scented to whatever perfume
you would like.
19. For my NMD 104 ideas I thought of a lot of idea for remote controllers for television,
but what if you just told it what you wanted to watch and it would go to that
channel? Pretty cool.
20. Washer/drying combo. Self Explanatory and awesome.
21. I just bought hair dye yesterday and I love dying my hair, but it grows out so fast. It
would be nice if there was a hair dye that never grew out until you put new color in.
22. My grandfather is an avid metal detector guy, and you can always find him on the
beach looking for whatever. I thought that metal detector shoes would be crazy. They
would work just like metal detectors but just in shoe form! So much easier!
23. A built in bra sweater! I feel like this is the only thing that isn’t built in bra for
women and it would definitely be way more comfortable if there was extra help if
you know that I mean....
24. Shoes that have a bad odor sensor. If someone has smelly odors in their shoes the
inside of the shoe turns into a bright color so you can see what parts of the shoe smell
so you can spray it with something.
25. Shoes for people who are on their feet a lot that have a button that allows the shoes
to massage your feet. It would be great for after work and your counting out your
tips (waitresses, hairdressers, etc.) and they can just turn it on whenever they want to.
26. Comforters that have a foot warmer at the bottom. Kind of like 2 little foot pockets
that you put your feet into and then turn on a switch to activate the warmth.
27. A restaurant where you can get ANYTHING you want, so no matter what you can
have anything you like.
28. A toothbrush that changes colors when it’s old. I seriously never know when my
toothbrush is bad, because the longer I have it, the better it feels but if it was too old
or wasn’t doing what it is supposed to be doing, it changes a different color.
29. A deodorized toilet sprayer for public bathrooms. When someone does a stinky, a
sort of febreze- like spray will immediately spray into the toilet to get rid of the smell.
30. Shampoo that doesn’t hurt your eyes but acts as eye drops. I don’t know how many
times I’ve gotten soap in my eyes and it makes my eyes itch for days.
31. Refillable marker ink. I know they have it for pens, but I just recently ran out of ink
in a very expensive marker I got at Michael’s and I am a little emotional about it.
32. Built in toothbrush holder. I recently just bought a toothbrush that was the exact
same as my roommates and I didn’t know and now we get each others toothbrushes
mixed up. If there was a built in toothbrush holder we could put our toothbrushes in
our designated hole, and it would save money on buying a holder at the store.
33. Paint that is able to be washed off easily with water. I live in an apartment with all
white walls and it’s kind of depressing, so it would be cool to be able to paint the
walls with paint that could be washed off with water.
34. For my project for the Edgar Allen Poe assignment I would like to do a cartoon, but
am not very familiar at Flash so it will be interesting to see how I do.
35. I think that there should be a person who could come around to all college classes
and evaluate the teachers. I remember seeing it in high school and it really helped the
teachers realize what they were doing wrong and what they were doing right. I have
had a hard time this semester with teachers who haven’t taught me anything (not
you, don’t worry) and I really wish that someone would set them straight. It is so
crazy to think that you have a teacher that doesn’t teach you anything. I never
thought I would have that but I guess I was wrong.
36. An umbrella with a light attached to it. It is so lame when you get a flat tire or
something and it’s raining or something (worse case scenario) but it would be
awesome to have an umbrella with a light so you could see what you are doing.
37. Vibrating wrist watch. Just in case you have a meeting to go to or you want to set an
alarm while you are taking a nap you can just turn on the vibrations.
38. Two different kinds of horns on a car. One that you use to say “hi” to people, and the
other to express rage towards another car.
39. Flavored envelope seals, so when you go to lick an envelope it won’t taste like crap.
I prefer strawberry.
40. I think there should be a website you can go to that has every restaurant in the areas
menu and reviews on them. There has been a lot of disappointing times going out to
eat and expecting it to be great, so it would be awesome to have a place where you
can know the truth about it.
41. So I enjoy Pepsi way too much, and it makes me feel wicked gross and full
afterwards, but imagine if there was like a protein infused pepsi that tasted the same
but was actually good for you? Oh man, that would be the day.
42. My dad is probably one of the most cheap people I know. Every time he plays golf
and loses a ball he yells “I paid 5 dollars for that thing” and its embarrassing and
annoying. I think it would be beneficial for him to have a golf ball with a gps inside it
so when you do lose your ball you can look at a little device and it will show you
where on the green it is.
43. A laptop desk that can be attached to the side of your bed. I know when I am
studying at night, I always have to have my Macbook giving me a crazy heat rash on
my legs and causing me to overheat. So it would be nice to have a sort of desk that
hangs over the side of you while you are in bed. Kind of like a hospital food table.
44. Magnetic chip bag. I hate when my chip bag unravels and my chips go stale so it
would be cool if there was sort of a magnetic pull at the top of the bag so when it is
open it can be instantly closed.
45. Colored salt. I put way too much salt on pretty much everything I have so it would
be nice if there was colored salt so you know when you put too much salt on your
food.
46. Food flavored chewing gum. Usually gum makes me more hungry but if there was a
taste I liked, i wouldn’t have to go snack out afterwards.
47. A tuna can squeezer. Seriously, I love tuna sandwiches but I would rather not when
no matter what the tuna stench gets on your hands and stays there forever. Maybe
have a circled device with a holder that would allow you to put the tuna can without
the top into it and you could squeeze down with the top of it. Yeah I know, I am a
super deep thinker.
48. A Keg of juice. I probably drink more apple juice then a 4 year old, but I hate always
having to get just one jug of it when I know I will run out in 2 days. It would be great
to just have a huge amount in a keg that can fit in a fridge.
49. A pet voice recognizer. I would love to have a chat with one of my pugs, because I
seriously think they would have some funny things to say.
50. With the new election, I think it would be cool to have a database online where you
vote that way. It would be good for people who have to work all day and don’t have
the time to do so, or even for nursing homes the workers could help the elderly with
it.
51. As much as I enjoy swiffering the floor (I really do!) it would be cool to had swiffer
shoes so you could walk and mop. It would be much easier and you would have to
worry that you are stepping on the wet spots.
52. Vacuum silverware! You can use it when you made a crumby mess all over the place.
All you have to do is hit a little button and it works perfectly.
53. A mini printer that you can keep in your pocket or backpack. It would be convenient
to print out homework assignments on the spot. It would be able to be folded up
small but when you used could be undone and made bigger to print 8x10 documents.
54. Cassette players built into a computer or laptop. Wouldn’t that be crazy to be able to
listen to your old tapes that sound so good through a computer? And when it is your
computer you can upload it onto your iTunes like anything else.
55. I think Apple should have an option of personalizing what color you want for any of
their products. If you want a green macbook pro (yes please) then you will get one
with a little extra money involved.
56. A combination stapler/pencil sharpener. Have a hole at the bottom of the stapler
where the sharpening goes on.
57. Water Chair. Kind of like a water bed but chair form. So comfortable.
58. My sister is a crazy person who keeps receipts for like 10 years and has a collection
in a huge folder. I thought it would be cool that when you get things on a credit or
debit card your check automatically gets scanned into so when you are online you
can look at it from there. Save paper!
59. Scratch and sniff restaurant menus. A lot of people go by what their food smells like
to know if they like it or not so it would be cool to be able to smell what your
ordering before hand.
60. Lately I have been trying to develop a sound visualizer in processing, and I have
been have troubles. It would be cool to have a program that lets you create your own
visualizer and write out the code for you as you are giving the specifics of the
visualizer. Then you could look over the code later and make sense of it on your own.
It would be a good self teaching tool.
61. A way to take off laptop keyboards apart so you can get all the dust out easily.
62. Dissolving toilet paper. Seriously I think my roommates use too much tp because
every time I go to the bathroom there are toilet paper surprises at the bottom. It
would be amazing if as it hit water the toilet paper would dissolve and would not
cause anymore clogging problems.
63. A automated timed shower. For those days your in a rush, it would be nice to set the
time on your shower so you know what time to get out and you can look to see how
much more time you have left so you know how quick you can do things.
64. My mom makes a lot of CD’s for her friends, and it she always makes me make
covers, which I don’t mind but it would be a lot easier to have a high standard CD
cover design program. It would make it easier for anyone to use and make it look
professional every time.
65. I think there should be a policy for colleges and universities to have a database
where you can find a recording of a class you missed, and if it was a computer based
class, have a screen capture of the whole lesson. This would be easy for kids who are
sick for a while or who just have an appointment. You only have 3 free passes to look
at them, but after that you have to get permission from your teacher to see the rest
you’ve missed.
66. A water bowl for animals that never runs out of water. You can somehow connect
the bottom to a hose and when the water is all gone, it refills automatically.
67. I wish there was a daily planner that if you put a schedule in for the day, you had to
stick to that schedule or else it would no leave you alone. Like it would literally yell
at you if you didn’t do your work, because I set times for myself to finish projects and
now I am behind and wishing I wasn’t lazy.
68. It would be nice if there was some part in my brain that would retain every idea I
have had EVER so no matter what I can always go back there and find an idea for
you that I haven’t said already... If you can’t tell I am struggling.
69. My car is slightly old and I never know what it can handle when it comes to
weather, so it would be nice to have a meter on your car or anything that shows if
your car is ready for the weather you are going to be in.
70. All week it has been so cold out my windshield has been solid ice. I don’t have the
time to wait for it in the morning and it would be nice if there was something that
you could pour on top of it and instantly all the ice would go away.
